Choose your paid anchor
Pick the castle interiors if royal and religious history are your priority. Pick the Clock Tower for a more compact Old Town visit. Do not buy multiple overlapping tours simply because they all include the word Prague in the title.
Connect the neighbourhoods on foot
Old Town, Charles Bridge and Malá Strana make a useful walking sequence, but your pace and starting hotel matter. An organised orientation walk offers context and a fixed route; an independent walk offers more control over breaks. Neither automatically includes the buildings you pass.
Leave lunch and travel space
Treat meal breaks and the journey to meeting points as real parts of the day. A tour finishing at one landmark may leave you some distance from the next departure pier. Check both addresses rather than relying on broad labels such as city centre.
Finish with a river view or a show
Choose a short cruise if you want an easy change of pace, or a theatre ticket if the evening performance is a priority. Avoid making your final booking so tight that a delayed afternoon spoils it. Save the zoo and distant day trips for a longer stay.
